Phase One

Phase one of the park’s development includes The Beech-Allen Building totalling 4,084mwhich is now at full occupancy.

PSP’s second building, The Lyle Building, is now operational and has started to welcome an impressive array of sector related, new tenants.

Further development on the 10 hectares science park is strongly supported by Wiltshire Council and its strategic partners, and provides for larger developments for newly emerging and established Health, Life Sciences and Defence Technology companies seeking direct engagement with Porton Down’s expanding scientific and defence technology community.

PSP’s vision is to become a focus for innovation and market growth in its target sectors through the provision of specialist services delivered in partnership with stakeholder organisations.

A fully funded three-year programme is establishing a Health and Life Sciences hub across the Swindon and Wiltshire area and all based out of PSP.

PSP’s Incubation Centre has been created with its tenants in mind – its specialist services will include access to the latest laboratory equipment, technical expertise and collaborative research between businesses and the research community whilst also encouraging active links with existing innovation networks, higher education, knowledge bases within Wiltshire and the United Kingdom.

PSP offers three dynamic capabilities, supported and strengthened by its programme partners:

Innovation Centre

A brand new 4,084m2 building, The Lyle, which accommodates laboratory-based SMEs and the support to enable these businesses to grow and rapidly develop.

Grow-on space

Dedicated Grown-on space, provisioned within both The Beech-Allen and in Th Lyle for start up, spin out and established SMEs to expand their operations with more mature service and product delivery capability.

Future

The park’s Phase one development plan’s strategy and remit also includes the future construction of additional buildings at PSP for the science park’s expansion together with Grow-on space for established businesses seeking direct association with Porton Down’s scientific community.

Phase one of the science park has been created with Life Sciences SMEs in mind and sector services will include access to specialist equipment, technical expertise, collaborative research between businesses and the research community within Wiltshire – as well as the promotion of PSP by fostering active links with existing innovation networks within the United Kingdom as well as with higher education, knowledge-based industries, knowledge transfer networks and through national and international collaborations.
